Anyone else's TL pick the inside rear tire off the ground when cornering?

I've noticed this as I've tweaked and tuned looking for more grip. Once I have the tires good and warm, when I take a corner at the absolute limit it lifts the inside rear tire off the ground. I understand this is mostly from the 24mm RSB but just wondering if anyone else's does.

I found out because the rear tires are starting to get noisy but on the hardest of turns, the tire noise goes completely away on the inside. The VSA usually freaks out even though the car is either barely sliding or not sliding at all. I finally had a friend watch to see if what I was hearing was correct and he said the inside tire gets an inch or so of air.

I know the VW guys run into this all the time but I don't like looking like a retard.

There is no way around it when you corner hard with the stiffer sway bar

That hasn't happened with my TL's stock suspension in autocross events.

Yes, it's mostly a VW Rabbit/GTI trait, as I don't remember seeing any other cars doing that regularly.

I would think if anything, autocross would expose it. What tires are you running?

I'm thinking since mine is just a little on the tail happy side, it's just the additional rear roll stiffness. I may back the bar off to the soft position since I'm already in the stiff setting for the front bar.

Yup my TL does this too, mostly from aggressive left cornering tho.

I let off the throttle once i feel it & get on the brakes slightly.

My tires still have plenty of thread left,i just felt its cuz my

progress RSB is set to full stiff paired with the moog endlinks.

I'd never forget my old 98 Accord V6 went tail happy with this same

RSB set at full stiff (yes it basically drifted & scared the crap outta me).

You mean the rear end sliding, not the tire coming off the ground, right? If the rear end starts sliding, lifting off the gas is the worst thing you can do as it can and usually does make it worse. Giving it more gas will help tuck the rear end back in place. The only thing saving you in those situations is the electronics.

On my Accord yeah the rear end slided around, but on my TL

its the drivers rear wheel that lifts up when corneing.

edit: theyre both different situations, plus on the Accord

i was going like 20ish mph

My TL has a stock suspension with the Bridgestone Potenza RE970 Pole Positions-- dedicated all-season street tires.

I think you're right about the stiff RSB causing your three-legged attitude at the limit.

I considered a Comptech RSB, but wanted to stay stock (any minor suspension hardware mod would put the TL into SCCA's Street Prepared class, for example, against cars with many more mods).

^there's a slight hp increase. slight, like talking 3hp. and your manifold will be cleaner!
thats the main benefit tho.
a cleaner intake manifold.

I'll comment in more detail later but you know how it is with new mods, you always think you feel a difference at first so I'm trying to wait a little while before doing a full review.

So far the car doesn't feel like it falls off when hot as much. Much of the surging it's had since it was 2 years old has gone away. This car has always had a problem in hot weather and I believe the main issue is the 02 sensors even though there's no CEL.

I decided to do the EGR blockoff one night when I was bored, it took less than 5 minutes. I was hoping that maybe I wouldn't get a CEL if I blocked it instead of unplugging the electrical but I have a CEL. I learned that there's definitely EGR flow when cold, the light first came on on a cold start in less than a minute of driving with the temp gauge barely moving off of the cold end.

I would have to call it a success right now. The real test is the couple times I've gotten in it and not thinking about the EGR being modified and thinking to myself it feels a little more peppy than normal. I think the 02s can still be the underlying issue or maybe there's just too much EGR flow for a given throttle position but my car probably gained more than most normal TLs would. I can really tell the difference at low rpm like when on the freeway and the clutch is locked and you pass someone, I can give it a little gas and go around someone without downshifting or unlocking the converter, acceleration feels a little more effortless from low rpms.

As Justin mentioned you'll have a cleaner intake manifold from it as well. If your TL is running right, it's doubtful you'll be able to feel a difference with it blocked off. I plan to drill a little hole in the plate and use it as a restrictor plate to hopefully get the benefits of the EGR being plugged off as well as getting rid of the CEL.
