Anyone else notice what my wife did about the A-Spec Wheels????

I wanted to find some A-spec wheels for our 2004 TL and my wife said, NO! She said they looked just like the wheels on our van (Honda Odyssey). I looked and....WOW!

Honda Odyssey Wheel:

Acura TL A-Spec Wheel:

Now, obviously, the openings are larger with the A-Spec, but she is right!

Odyssey wheels look kind of like the pudgy version of the Aspecs.

Odyssey Wheels: Short fat 8-year-old with chocolate crumbs around his mouth
Aspec Wheels: Grown up and fit.

Sorry, best analogy I could think of.

But IMO they just share the design, twin 5-spoke. You could say the same thing about most RonJon wheels, but they're DEFINETELY very different IMO.

Why, the ones on there are already close enough. I just can't believe they do look so similar, considering the vehicles involved....why would Honda do that??? Of course the A-Specs still looks better, but waaaaay to similar for my taste.

I'd tell you to buy them for the Honda, but its a different lug pattern. Or you can also say that you're going to buy them for the Honda and then say, "oops they don't fit". So then you'll have to put them on the TL.
Odyssey = 22mm lugs
TL = 19 mm lugs

Last edited by Mighty Mouse; 11-08-2010 at 04:38 PM. Reason: Specifying that lug patterns are diffrent

No problem.

I can see a small similarity but I never would have thought about it if I parked my car next to an Odyssey with those wheels.

I would agree with your wife, to a point. they look somewhat the same but i would not let that stop me from getting A-Spec Wheels, but for the cost you might as well get a nice custom set!
