anybody run 225 50 17 tires?

Shouldn't be a problem as they are only about 1/4" taller than the 245/45-17 a size that a great many use as replacements and the wheel width at 8” is approved for the 225/50-17 size. If you go that route, take a look at the Yokohama Advan S.4 that I have on our TL, although 245/45-17. The reason I mention this tire, although pricey, is that I have found it to be an outstanding addition to the TL, great ride, handling, and lack of any noise. Also, in the size you're asking about, 225/50-17 the S.4 tread width is larger when compared to an OE size Bridgestone 960 (235/45-17), 7.9" vs. 7.8". Looks won't change that drastically and you'll still have capable handling with additional rim protection and a better ride quality. As usual my
