All season tires that don't hurt the fuel milage
Alright A-ziner's,
I have read and read and read about the all-season tires.
Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position
Continental ExtremeContact DWS
Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus
Pirelli PZero Nero All Season
Yokohama ADVAN S.4.
Has any one found a tire that does not hurt the fuel milage, but perfomce better the the stock HXM4's. Has anyone installed the Continental ContiProContact that are in the same Grand touring catgory but rated much better on tirerack.

If you're only dealing with very little snow, you can look no further than the General Exclaim UHP. Scored very high for low-rolling resistance in last year's Consumer Reports tests. If you need snow traction, then look no further than Michelin's Primacy MXV4, which scored the same "excellent" mark for low rolling resistance.
Each of the above tires should be availble in "V" or better speed rating for the intended fitment.
For really low-rolling resistance tires (which may not be suitable due to lack of V-speed rating), check out Tirerack.com's comparative review HERE.

The Advan S4s replaced my TL's OEM MXM4s about five months ago; I didn't notice any decrease in gas mileage. Compared to the MXM4s, the S4s seem slightly stickier in the dry, are slightly noisier on concrete surfaces and just a tad quieter on other surfaces.
I'm in SoCal, so the Advans have been in one or two days of rain and probably will never see snow or ice.

I live in the northeast so I will being seeing snow. I don't mind a little MPG lost, but really don't want to lose 1 to 2 MPG that some are reporting after switching. I am leaning toward the Pirelli Nero AS and Conti DWS (the tread does not look as aggressive), for anyone who has installed them has it effected there MPG?

All I can say is that I love my 960 Pole Positions, no loss in MPG and better performance! As far as snow performance goes, I have no idea since I'm in FL.
As well stay away from the michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus, they will def. cut down your mileage.

In reality its even near impossible for us to calculate a true 1 MPG loss on the same tires given the fact that the conditions are uncontrolled. Ambient temperature and barometric pressure even come into play. And unless one is on a test track , and even then, its near impossible to duplicate driving conditions.
So take the " I lost 1 MPG" comments with a grain of salt.

I have the Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position's (bought them last January to replace those OEM Turanza's). I may get 1 to 2 MPG less thatn with the Turanza's. Winter takes another 2-3 MPG off (cold tires). The Potenza's hold the road like glue -- in rain, snow (I've driven through 3" with no problem -- just be careful).
I did all my research on Tirerack and then bought them at Discount Tire (lifetime free rotation and balancing).
You can't go wrong with these -- amazing tires!!

I was finally able to meet some snow tonight in Indy and the car was almost to planted. I tried to see if i could get it to drift to test out the tires and car since they are relatively new and it wouldnt. Very impressive so far for me with the tires.
