All Season Tires

Well my michelings Hxmx4 are shot and they do not perform well at all in wet conditions. I cant even imagine snow at this point. Im looking for a similar tire that is quiet as the mx4's or even quieter. Also performance of the tire is really important. I want it to performs somewhat decent in the snow and rain since i live in Cleveland Ohio.
All the input is apreaciated.
Thanks

Needed tires for my 04 in a hurry 9/06. Only tire dealer who had tires in stock in OEM size only had Kumho Ecsta ASX, so I bought them, at half the price of Pirellis or Michelins. I got 30K out of them (as promised), and they did fine last winter, although it wasn't that much of a winter around here. I replaced them this spring (100 mile per day commute) with the same tire, but in 255, rather than 235, and raised the pressure. The 255s look much better, and they protect the rims. I believe they are wearing better as well. I'm sure that if money is no object you can find better handling tires, or quieter tires, or longer wearing tires, or tires that will be more impressive to your friends, but I'm very satisfied with the Kumhos

Don't even bother with the HMXM in the snow, they blow....

The Michelin Pilot Sport All/Season has good snow traction, and excellent wet/dry traction, but they are a little pricey. I ran these on my G35 Coupe, and was very happy with them, except they went bald in 20,000 miles, but I can't rotate tires on my G35, so you might get better tread life in the TL.

The Continental ContiExtreme Contact has excellent snow traction, and good performance in wet/dry. I've heard people tell me they were noisy tho, but they are pretty cheap.

Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS. I have these on our TL and G35 right now. Excellent dry/wet traction. Not sure of snow yet, since it hasn't snowed since I got them, but they were rated better than the Pilot Sport A/S, which I found to be fairly good in the snow. I find these tires to be just as quiet as the stock tires, while blowing away the stock tires in performance in every category.

I live in the Pac NW, so we get our fair share of rain. Our house is in the foothills, so we get about a foot of snow each winter, which I know isn't much, just saying so you know what conditions I normally drive in... Anyways, these are the 3 tires I would recommend for this type of climate.

I ran the MXM4's OEM tires on my acura since Nov 06 - Oct 06 14.5k miles, I couldnt stand them in Wet / Snowy conditions. I currently live in MN and they were the worst snow traction tires i've ever driven in. I seriously felt like my life was in danger each time It snowed or rained.

I've changed out the tires since then to the Bridgestone RE960AS Pole Positions, 245/45/17 purchased for 536 shipped at discounttiredirect.com. Personally I feel as they are quieter than the MxM4's. I really can't tell a HUGE difference in handling but I blame the AT suspension and not the tires. Also I run 34/32 for tire pressure. I got them because ppl said they did in all weather but the true test will be in a few months when we start seeing snow. For now I havent even seen rain or snow. So I can't even comment on that currently.

GL on your purchase. Hope this helps a little.

I love my Pirelli P-Zero Nero M+S tires, but I haven't tried them in the snow yet. I found them to be a great buy at $160 per in 235/40-18.

I just read some online reviews for the Nitto NT-555, and people said they are terrible in the wet.

If they are the same price, I'd get the RE960AS. They have a 40,000 mile warranty. I don't expect nor care if they last 40,000 miles. The warranty is just cool to have, so I can get some money back if/when they wear out earlier than 40,000 miles.
