I'm needing a set of new tires for my 6 spd '04 TL. The dealer swapped my Bridgestone's for a second set at about 10,000 miles. Most of you know the probs we had with these tires. Their replacement tire was better but BARELY.
I put two Michelins on the front before last winter. Unfortunately, that was my only quick option for an all season tire - and quickly. Now I need 4 new tires.
I"m NOT supporting the French again (Frog Michelin's).
I"d like to buy something that's quality but will be a good all season tire. We get about 2-3 mos. of snow/ice here in Central Ohio. I'm also on the hwy quite a bit so need a nice quiet tire.
Anyone else in the same situation ? Anyone have a good rec?
Thanks,
Pete

Buy the Kuhmo ASX tire in 245-45-17.
This is the second set of ASX tires I've purchased, and they are great. Quiet, and a good value.
Check out the survey results on this tire at TireRack.com.

A lot of peopel are happy with Toyo Proxes 4. I have had them for a bit and I like them. They seem to offer a lot of performance and good tread life. I paid 650 installed which I was very happy with, especially since they are not a comprimise.

I have heard good things about the ASXs also. I am trying them or the PZERO neros next.
-1 for Nitto NT 555s. They handle killer but are noisier than the Turanzas.

Your loss. Michelin PS/AS are about the best all season you can get for your car.

I just put the Proxes 4's on my car last week. They look great, handle well and should have decent treadlife(30K miles?). However, they are not all that quiet. There is a definite hum/whine with these tires. I might be overly sensitive to the noise, but I think I will look for something else the next time I need tires.
