My normal response is to recommend 245/45-17 and to take a look at the survey. If you need tires for snow travel look at that category:
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/survey...ireSearch=true

If not used in winter look at the Yokohama W4s 245/45-17 with an exceptionally wide tread and reasonably priced. Although they are classified all-season tires, most UHP tires leave a lot to be desired in the snow. Quite a variety available from @ $80 to $200.

dont get the mxm4's...they come stock and are rated good BUT SUCK BALLS

friday morning coming home from work, took a ramp to get on parkway, roads were damp, no puddles anywhere, when its dry i always take the turn around 50-55, the sign says 25, i was going around 35-40, and tried to turn and nothing happen, kept going straight LOL. pulled the e brake barely(maybe ~1" up and for about 1 second) to get the car to "drift"(and slow down) then caught alittle traction and everything was good

anyway falkens are definitely very good

The mxm4's are very expensive. I got a set of Michelin Pilot A/S for $108 each from tirerack.com With shipping they were around $500 for four, then about $224 for mounting, balancing, and alignment.
