Alignment results *experts needed*

Hey Guys,

I recently bought a SSM 04 Base TL and I love it. However, when I got my brakes replaced as they were squealing, the mechanic said I could have a suspension problem and recommended I get an alignment.

Fast forward to yesterday and I got my alignment. The tech said that my cupping issues could be related to my suspension going out. (it has 165k miles on it after all).

Anyways, here is the results. I'm not sure how to read it, but I would like someone to take a look at this.

Another bullet point is that I want a ride that is more Lexus like. What should I be looking at?

Thanks

I doubt it (unless he found a specific part that was worn). Your cupping was most likely caused by the left rear toe being out of spec (which is exacerbated by your left rear camber being just outside of spec). You just need to keep an eye on your rear alignment.

This is fairly typical from what I've seen on my TL and many other TLs: Camber right at (or slightly beyond) negative limit and any out of spec toe causing cupping of the rear tire/s. There is no adjustment for rear camber, so you'll just have to live with it. As long as your toe (which is adjustable) is kept in spec, you'll be fine.

You could go to the expense and trouble of installing a camber kit, but it's really not necessary....

Im a tech at the Honda dealership in South Dakota and I do at least 5 alignments a day. Your left rear toe and camber were out of spec when your car was brought in, and like the above post says, only toe is adjustable on a Honda vehicle. Lookin at your sheet your toe was adjusted to spec, but its not perfect by any means, your rear toe number should be 0.00 to be perfect and yours are -.03 and +.03 in the rear. Im surprised that your car doesnt pull at all to the right with those numbers like that. Its nothing to be concerned about by any means and wont wear your tires with that little of difference but it is not perfect. And again it was said in the above post that the only way you will get your rear camber back into spec is to buy a camber kit. You are not alone with having the camber out of spec though, id say half the cars i align have it out in some way. Hope that helps clear up your questions

Both of these posts are great! both my tires had cupping in the inside threads, but i hope to not have this problem. I'll have my alignment checked before my 1 year warranty expires on it at Kragen and go from there.

Thanks so much!!

After that, I'd recommend you purchase a lifetime alignment deal. With these cars, it seems like twice a year will be standard....
