Tire Question/Help

Need new tires. I have TSW 19X8 rims with Nexen N7000 235/35 tire. Really like the tire, so going back to them. That tire is now discounted so I’m going to purchase the N7000 Plus. Only thing is they don’t offer 235/35. Closest to that is 245/40. Will my rim fit that tire without issue? Will I have any issue with rubbing? I figured not from the research I’ve done, but wanna see what others think or have experienced. TL is lowered Tein coilovers. Thanks

The new size will be a lot taller, and a little wider.

tire rack has guides on what sizing will fit what rim. Ideal fitment depends on the ACTUAL section width of that individual tyre, and a few other things.

Generally speaking, a 245/40 is a little too wide for a 8" wheel. But...it should be fine.

Ok thanks. I didn’t think it was that much taller from the research, but make sense what you’re saying.

245/40 is about 1.2" taller than 235/35.

That's a bunch.

Check out https://www.willtheyfit.com/

The dimensions are general and aren't tire specific but you can see it's a big difference.

Ugh. I hope I didn’t screw myself. I purchased the tires yesterday from Amazon. All the info I found, I knew they were taller/wider, but all the searching around didn’t think it was gonna be that big an issue. You’re making it seem like it’s gonna be a real issue and rub greatly?

No idea if it will rub. But your speedometer will be way off...and it may look funny.

Update....tires were too wide with how much my car is lowered. Would have had to raise coils a little and roll fender for it not to rub. So will be looking into 235/35 and be done with it. Thanks for the help...
