Affordable Tire for 3rd Generation TL

My current Pirelli P-Zero tires are close to end of life. I am looking at getting a set of 17" all seasons and wanted to get a recommendation for a tire under $200 a piece.

I realize that Michelin and other brands would be best but having just bought and paid alot for work on the car I would prefer an affordable tire. That being said my major concerns are wet traction and noise, my Pirelli's ride louder than the Michelin's I had on a loaner TL recently so I know I there are tires out there that don't require the stereo to be turned up to drown out.

I live in SC so snow is not an issue nor ice unless I drive further north. Any suggestions, I have been to tirerack.com and other tire rating sites but wanted fellow TL owner opinions?

I'm a new 05 TL owner and I'm interested in the same thing. I bought the car from an individual knowing that it needed new tires. I was just looking at Tire Rack and the Sams Club sites. I found a tire that I thought was interesting. It's the BF Goodrich Traction T/A (P235/45R17 93H RBL BD GoodrichTraction T/A). It doesn't appear to be as agressive as other recommeded tires, but I'm more interested in a long lasting tread and limited road noise. I currently have a set of Yoko's that seem to have a decent amount of tread on them, but the road noise is awful. Anyone have any thoughts about this BFG tire? Oh, the reason that it sparked my interest is that it's $137 with a 60K warranty.

Good reason to stay away is that it's only a H rated tire.
That said, there are many other V, W, Z rated tires that would be a more suitable replacement.

If you do a search you'll find many opinions. Just glance over the Tire Rack site for choices. I have mentioned before that the Yokohama 245/45-17 AdvanS.4 I have on our TL have been great, although about $185 each. They are quiet, smooth ride and great handling. The Yokohama W4s is a steal, in my opinion, for the money. Actually wider tread than the already wide S.4 and about $70 less expensive. Never driven with the W4s though.
