Anyone ever hear of this? This was told to me by the techs at the dealer. I declined for now. What does it do? Pros/Cons? It would've cost $45.

$45 bucks to fill up your tires???? LOLOLO First off nitrogen is basically a scam for cars. Its required in aircraft for obvious reasons but for cars its simply another way for dealers and other businesses to get money out of you. Yes there are benefits to nitrogen but in a car its just not worth it. No it doesnt make your car lighter, or faster, or handle better ;-) save your money man.

It's not a scam but it's over marketed and some of the claims are outrageous. Some places will fill your tires with nitrogen for $5 a tire.. lifetime refill. In race car apps or motorcycles, the small benefits can be worthwhile.

Nitrogen is inert.. fire is fueled by oxygen not nitrogen. Nitrogen is actually used to fight certain fires. You're probably thinking of hydrogen.
