Question Abnormal Tire Wear?

I have an '04 TL Navi. I just got a 20,000 mile service. I wanted the tires rotated. My local service guy told me the tires on the rear were too worn and cannot be rotated. The fronts have more tread, however I had to replace one front at 9000 miles because of a nail in the sidewall. I already rotated the tires at 10,000 miles. Is this normal for these EL42 tires? Is anyone else experiencing that kind of wear at what I would consider a small amount of mileage on the tires? Do you think I have any recourse with my dealer? At this rate I will be lucky to get 30,000 miles out of these tires. Also let me know what replacement tires other owners have been buying. Thank you all in advance.

I'd think it's normal if 4 tires got the same. But, if your front tires and the rear ones are significantly different and you do rotate them periodically, this is weird, and you may have to check the alignment or rear suspension, etc.

One of our member ever had the serious worn-out in the rear tires, here, you may check it out. But he got that in just a few thousand mileage.

There could be other factors causing issues here. You may search forums or wait for someone else to reply.

As for the new tires, many people here prefer to go Michelin Pilot Sport A/S, Pirelli Pzero Nero M&S, or Falken Ziex ZE 512, etc. They're all High-Performance Tires and better than Bridgestone EL42s.
