8" versus 8 1/2"--Will she notice?

I'm considering getting my girl (3G TL) some new shoes. She is currently riding on 19 X 8 1/2" Stern wheels. I'm looking at some 19 X 8" SSR wheels that should be considerably lighter...around 20 lbs. I'm wondering how important that 1/2 inch is. Does that 1/2 inch make big difference in performance? Thanks for the comments.

It really depends on the width of the tire you are using. I tend to notice little things like this but I have OCD when it comes to little details. Most people will not know the difference.

I'm tempted to make a dirty joke.... but I won't

The 1/2" smaller width of your wheels won't make a big difference at all.... you definitely will feel the 20 lbs less unsprung weight though. and if anything tire width is something you'd feel more than wheel width.
