7.5" rims / 235X40 tires?
New guy here, with a question for my '04 TL, 5AT.
A local dealer ordered me a set of TSW Volcano, 18X7.5 wheels. He says that Toyo Porxes 4, 235/40-18 is OK to use, but the tire mfg shows that it needs to be a 8"-9.5" rim. Has anyone used this size combination? I'd rather not use an 225x45-18.
How will a 7.5" 40mm+ fit? Will this look sunk-in?

too narrow. need 8-9" rim on TL. will sit in too far and look "unaggressive" and puny. tire size at 235/40-18 would likely still work though if u insist on going with those narrow wheels.

No, I don't insist on these wheels. I'll have to pay the shipping cost. But I'd rather loose 80 bucks, now, and not have to live with the wrong wheels for a few years.
I should have come here, first, instead of listening to the buttheads at the local store.
