6M Stock Wheel Replacement - Do I need stock wheels of another 6M?

Title says it all - sorry if this is a dumb question... I need to replace a few wheels on my 05 TL 6M and have found a set of stock rims for sale from an '04 automatic - am I reading correctly that there is a difference between the wheel specs from the manual to auto cars related to clearance around the brembo brakes?

The stock 5 spoke wheels? They will work for either the manual or auto transmission car. There is no difference for those particular wheels.

Okay thanks - that answers my question. I was confused because I've seen some threads where people have talked about buying remanufactured wheels that didn't fit over their calipers - but these are the factory stock rims.

To put this in proper perspective, remamufactured factory OEM rims will fit just fine. It's the so-called "Replica' after market replacements that have a problem fitting properly on the front wheels with Brembo calipers. Look carefully at the listings for wheels on ebaY. If you're not certain, call the seller to be sure BEFORE you buy.

Here's a listing that sells wheels you can trust, $125 with shipping:
17" 17x8 OEM Alloy Wheel Rim for 2004 2005 Acura TL

Does your 2005 6MT have TPMS? That's the only difference I can think of. I just can't recall if it was in '05 the change was added or if it was '06?

I don't believe TPMS was introduced until 2006.

Correct, TPMS started with the 2006 model year.

Thanks! I am in Boston quite a bit and the price looks comparable to what I might pay for wheel repair up here in VT... pretty enticing.
