40 series tires on 19's???

Has anyone, or know of anyone, who has run a 225/235/245/ 40-19" on STOCK ride height? I like the ride quality on 40's and want to fill-in the wheel well a little more for now. I do not want to change the suspension until the warranty is expired. I did not see one set-up like this in all the other threads so I am guessing they will not fit, but I wanted to ask before I order tires this week. Thanks for your input!

I was thinking so too, but I have to be 100% sure before i order the tires. If I have them shipped, installed, & mounted... then they don't fit... I am F-ed!!!

Once I figure out which 40 series tire I can go with, I can calculate the difference in circumference percentage and then apply that to the speedometer... should only be a 2-4 MPH negative difference.

^ pretty close yea... i would say about 5-6% overall diameter increase... so when you are going... 60 MPH, the speed-o will probably read around 57mph

^ that is what I guess as well. All I need to do now is find one person who has them or has had them and tell me if they rub at all. I called a few tire places here in Cincy and they don't know shit. Your car looks good in your post-pic... nice eye candy too!!! My last car was a white/black setup and I loved it... Anthracite and black chrome this time around.

You can use the calculator here to see how much off your speedo is going to be

245/40-19 will rub in the front. I found that out when I was playing around with my G35 wheels on my TL. (Could've been the offsets too tho, so it depends what wheels you have)

That is true, but I have seen several people here put on 245/35R20's on stock height with no rubbing. Look at this link: http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCal...?action=submit

The section width is the same for all 3 tires. The 245/35R20's have an overall diameter of 26.75" and the 245/40R19's are only 26.71". Since they are no bigger, they should fit without rubbing right??? Anybody else think they will be ok? They are going on a set of 19x8.5 Privat Rennstadts. THANKS!

That's why I said offsets probably make a big difference... All I know is that when I tried that on my TL, it rubbed quite a bit when I turned the wheel.

Cool I found this before asking the same question. I see people with 19's dropping the car 2" inches so it seems you should be able to put 40 series tires on 19's with less of a drop since the tire is larger. Is there anyone here that has done this, I'd love to see a pic.

Is this correct?
