265/35/18 Has anyone tried these on 05/06 TL A-SPEC

Just wondering if the width of these tires would cause rubbing on our cars? My biggest concern was the 265mm on only our 8 inch A-SPEC rim width. I spoke with Discount Tire here in Michigan and they said that it would definitely fit fine and that the speedometer would not be affected at all. I have 2 spare front tires for my 98 Supra TT 6-spd that are this size, but I did not want to take the chance having some young kid damage the painted finish on my A-SPEC rims while trying to dismount the OEM tires, remount 265/35/18 tires, dismount 265/35/18 tires and than remount the OEM tires again. The winters are brutal here on painted surfaces due to the salt covered roads. I was just curious if any one has actually done this set up on their cars, and have any real ride time in there car to note rubbing conditions. I have posted this before but never got any responses --Has anyone out there tried this set up on the 18x8 05-06 TL A-SPEC rims??????????

You sure about that? I have 9.5" rims on my other car, and that is the optimum rim size for the 275 tires I have on there. The 8" rims that used to be on that car came with 245 on them, and the tire shop said the largest I could safely go is 255. According to Tire rack, the allowable rim widths for a 265 tire is 9-10.5".

That is what I thought also. I have 11.5 inch rear rims and 10 inch rims on my 98 Supra. These tires fit my front rims on that car. I think that the rim is probably not wide enough but they said that it is a fitment that is listed on their computer. I was just very curious if anyone else has done this setup before.
