Question 245/50/16

Has anybody tried this size tires on their TL with no suspension mods? By my calculations these tires have almost exactly the same circumference as stock 205/60/16 and would look great! If there are no rubbing problems I'd like to try some this year. Probably will mount on 16X7 ROH ZR6 rims. Any help is appreciated.

245?? Damn, isn't that kinda a wide tire? Even for a 7" wide wheel.. hmm..

Do you mean 215/50?

Hi Edub-TL,
No, I definetly mean 245/50 because if you want the speedo and ABS to remain accurate the circumerence has to stay the same, to have the same number of rpm of the wheel per mile. It would look great wouldn't it?

I thought about it too, but E-Dub is right.

7" width may not give you a proper bead when mounting. Plus I looked at the space between the tire and the strut housing and it looks like the tires may be right up against them.

A lower offset can correct this but then you have to worry about fender rubbing. 225 is the recommended limit here, but some have squeezed by with 235.

That's the widest possible size you can put on a 7" tire..If youre planning on putting it on ur stock TL wheel, it's too wide.. the TL rims are 6.5 inches wide..
