I'm upgrading the wheeles and tires on my 2005 Acura TL to Size -18"x8"

Bolt Pattern - 5x114.3

Offset - +40mm


The recommended tire size is 235/40/18, but I would really like the 245/40/18 tires instead. Some say they will work and other say they will not. Could someone please let me know the truth? My TL is 100% stock. Any help would be appreciated!!! Thanks

I have used 4 different brands of tires in 245/40/18 and they work fine, actually looks better than the 235/40/18.

You never had any rubbing problems?

I actually have 19x8 with 245/35/19 and no rubbing.

I ran 245/40/18 for a while on 18x8 enkeis with a 38 offset and no rubbing with aspec suspension, had plenty of clearance

It should be fine with no issues with that fitment. I've heard ppl running 255's without rubbing.

I'm currently on 235 tires on a 8.5 tire with a +30 offset and lowered 1.2 inches and there is no rubbing at all.

I'm running 265/35-18s on Aspec 18x8.5 (45 offset) with Aspec susp...no issues at all.
