225/45/17 = 7 or 7.5 wheels?
I'm worried that moving from a 205/60/16 to a 225/45/17 with the same width wheel will mean too much bulge in the sidewall. Am I worrying over nothing?
If you are interested, I'm upgrading my 2000 TL. I'm just a commuter, but thinking of Kumho 711 or 712s because I like to feel solid in the corners and braking (which I don't anymore).

I have the Yokohama AVS ES100. If you read the review on TireRack it beat out both the Kumho Ecsta 712 and the Sumitomo HTR Z.

Got them yesterday. 17" aluminum wheels with the 225/45 ES100s. I'm SHOCKED at how much more road feel I have now, without much loss of ride comfort. Thank you for suggesting the Yokos.
The offset on the wheels is +38, so the back wheels are in line with the well and the front only come out about 4 mm. May have to get wider mudflaps...
