2004TL Rim Question about 18"X 8.5

I am in the process of getting a new 04TL. I will have a Comptech Drop 1" front and rear. I really want a set of AT Italia Rivas, but they only have either 17s or 19s for the TL. They do offer a 18" X 8.5, but tirerack.com does not offer that, is it because they will rub or they just don't fit? If they do fit what is the max. rubber allowed on that size (18"x 8.5)? Thanks Mark

Few of the online site configurators have information on the new TL. Guess it's just too new. The response to your question is two-fold. First, do you have the automatic or manual transmission? There are only a VERY few wheels that will fit the manual at this time (Because the stock brembo brakes are so large). If you have an auto, then there are a lot of wheels out there. The offset is IMPORTANT on rims. If the offset isn't appropriate (or the bolt pattern), Tire rack will not offer it on their site. For the 04TL's you need a bolt pattern of 5x114.3 (or sometimes written as 4.5) and an offset between +37 and +50. The actual offset that will work with your actual wheels is determined by the size of tires you put on there.
