2004 Acura TL Question

I'm new to this so please bear with me. Does anyone know what is the best type of rear shocks to purchase for a 2004 TL? Is it considered safe to have them installed with a shop other than an Acura dealership repair facility? Would appreciate your thoughts. Thanks

Hi and welcome to AZ. For the shocks it all depends on what you are looking for. Do you want to keep it stock or do you want more of a sport suspension. Yes any other shops can do it for you other than Acura Dealerships. Dealerships will charge you alot of money. To change the shocks shouldnt cost you more than $200 wherever your going. The only pain about the rear shocks in the TL is it is a pain in the ass to get to. Most of the time would be spent removing your rear seats.

Thanks for the information regarding the purchase of rear shocks for my TL as well as your welcoming me to the Forum. The dealership's mechanic wants $600, which I think is outrageous. With the info you provided, I feel more comfortable looking elsewhere to have the shocks put on. Would you know which offer a better ride stock or sports shocks? Thanks.
