-2.3° Camber on rear wheels after drop

I did a search but I couldn't find any answers.

I just lowered my car ( I didn't measure the drop) with Tein Basics and got an alignment done. My front camber is -1.1° and my rear camber is -2.3°

Should I get a rear or front camber kit? It looks like most people say to get a rear camber kit if the drop is more than 2" but I'm not sure if my drop is more than 2".

I would say get both front and rear because you're sitting at almost 2.5" drop...

Height doesn't neccisarily mean you'll need a camber kit. It varies car to car.

The rear camber is too much though. I'm pretty sure -1.5 is the limit for camber. THe front seems fine though.

More importantly, what was the rear toe after the alignment? Too much toe-in will eat your tires up.

Do you mean from individual car to individual car (my 3Gen TL to your 3Gen TL), or do you mean from one model of car to another model of car (say, TL to Ford Escort)?

Chuckdu,

I also have tein basic on mine without camber kits. What I did after the installation is park my car next to my neighbor M3. I copied his M3's ground clearance. I want my car lowered without any scrapping and I'm pretty sure M3 ground clearance is sufficient enough to prevent scrapping. I did my first alignment on 10/05 and posted somewhere in here. I raised my car about 2-3 mm couple weeks ago and just did my second alignment. My alignments are still in specs.
My fronts are -0.8 and -0.3 and my rears are -1.5 and -1.5 with toe close to ZERO.
TOE is the most important factor why you have uneven thread wear. Remember that.
So if you lower your car more than one inch, you should get a camber kit installed.

Well. I purchased a Ingalls rear camber kit from iamdirect for $129 shipped. I hope this is the one I should get over the SPC one. I guess I will be left with a little bit of neg camber still since the Ingalls kit will only adjust to -1.5.

Good choice on the Ingalls.

Your good with the kit. Since your rear camber is way negative, the kit adjusts it up to 3 deg. in the positive direction thereby eliminating your problem.

ok...I get it now. I was thinking the kit would only adjust to -1.5 but I guess it makes more sense that i need to adjust the camber kit +2.3 to cancel out the -2.3 camber in my car.

If you go tirerack.com you should be able to find info about alignment. For daily driving + performance, you want to have a bit of camber, not zero camber.

Here are some pictures as promised. Sorry about the low light. I am planning on doing a photoshoot with some friends this weekend so I will get better pics later.

I just got the Rockblocker smoked tail film on but didn't have time for the sidemarkers.

Wow your TL is looking hot!!! Those anthracite Axis wheels looks good with your White Daimond Pearl TL. Nice lowering too by the way. I would of lowered the front just a tat bit more but that is just me. Thanks for the pics!!

Thanks. The wheels where actually painted Gunmetal from Bronze. I bought them that way. And I agree with you about the front. It was a little higher that that before and I even brought it down a little last week end.
