19" X 9.5" Up front (Sorry)
I am sorry if this has been beaten up before, but i am tired of looking for it. I am looking at getting the Petrol Octane Hypersilver with S.S. Lip. I hope you like it, I am a very picky person.
![](http://www.buywheelstoday.com/images_products/L_3516.jpg)
The ones that are being recomended to me are 19" by 8" with a 2" lip. This one has a 40mm offset. The second is 19" by 9.5" with a 3" lip it has a 35mm offset.
I am looking at getting to 9.5" wheel all around. I like the wider look of rims and tires. My questions are, is anyone running something similar to this setup? If you are how far out past the fender does the wheel go? By my calculations, this set-up will fit initially, but since I am trying to figure this out without having my car (I am on deployment with the Navy), I am not too sure. I know a lot of you will probably say "It will rub" and i respect that, but i prefer to hear from people who have actually done this or have seen it. My final question is what would you recommend for a tire on this set-up?
It looks like to me that the 9.5" with the 35mm offset will be about 7/16" deeper in the wheel well and just under 1" farther out into the fender than the stock wheel.
For all who have read through this, thank you. For those who reply it is greatly appreciated.

9.5 up front? I think you can run it, depends on the rubber you use, if your 6mt or auto (cuz of the +35 offset) Auto can fit it, not sure about 6mt; may need a 3-5mm spacer. but when it comes to lowering, your gonna be limited on the amount of drop you can sustain...
best thing like alot of people who run crazy offsets that "aren't recommended" is to TEST FIT!!!!
Make sure that shit clears before you put the rest of the money down

9.5+10.5 22m=Hella Flush
If your lowering your TL I have a feeling it will rub up front. I would just stick with the x8 up front and x9.5 in the rear to prevent any rubbing issues.

I plan on getting a test fit from a wheel in the same size category when I get back. If I do end up dropping it, it would only be enough to close the gap on the top of the wheel well. I really don't want to get a staggered fitment, if I had to put the rear tire on the front or rotate tires, I would want them all to match. I don't want to have to drive with the spare on the front if I get a flat tire. Thanks for the comments, they are appreciated. Keep them coming.

19x9.5 the offset will have to be above +38 without needing to camber and running a tire that will actually protect your rim...
ps. those wheels are discontinued

I have been to the actuall Petrol Website and they are not discontinued. I went to one or two sites that sell wheels and they said they were discontinued and there were a bunch of others that didn't say anything. I went to the actual petrol website to see what they said about it. They are not part of the Petrol Discontinued line.
Now according to what you are saying, I should have to put a 3mm spacer on it. I don't see what putting a spacer on it will have to do with a camber or tire size. I thought camber was only messed up with when you dropped the vehicle.
I found another angle on the wheel from the Petrol website.

the 9.5 in the front will be extended past the fender... you'll need to run a 225-35-19 tire and camber the wheel/tire to -2.0 camber... which is gonna mess up your handlings characteristics... 'cause your contact area in the front is gonna be limited to about 70% on stretched tires...

Andy, did you have the 2" drop before or after you put the 20's on. Also do you confirm what rodney says about it extending past the fender. Also what do you mean by stretched tires. Is that where the tire really isn't that good for the rim due to it not being wide enough. I am still trying to decide. I would really like 9 1/2 wide, but if I have to go smaller I will. Jus might look for the exact same style somewhere else in 8 1/2 wide. If possible can you PM me or post a pic or a link so i can see your wheels and how they fit in the wheel well.

I also know from personal experience that a 9.5" wheel fits nice in the front of the 3G TL...

rodney i thank you for your opinion and i do appreciate it. I took andy's post due to him saying what he is running. The differance between a 35 and 41 offset is less than 1/4 inch. So my tires will be sticking out a little more than Andy's. I do know that a 1/4" could mean the differance between rubbing and not and sticking out the fender. I know i will have to definately do a test fit before i commit.
