18x9.5 wheel fit for 04 TL??

Hello out there! In last month's (January 2011) HONDA Tunning magazine, there was a write up on ACURAZINE's member "ACCURATEin" TL. Pretty cool what he has done with his car, all of which he has had to use his creativity. My question is if someone, other than "ACCURATEin", has mounted 18x9.5 wheels on their third generation ACURA TL without rubbing or wheel and body contact? The offset he has used is a 43mm. I look forward to anyones recommendation regarding this question!

pretty sure they will fit depending on how low the offset is....i know you saw doughboys setup in the other thread with his +38 offset ...im waiting to get a response myself if these fit without any modification to the panels

I believe the +38 should be the right offset. Right now I'm riding 18x9 with a +35 with no problems. Still the 9.5 are a real temptation. I was thinking in going 19x9.5, but the damm tires are more expensive than the 18's and 20's. I look forward to the responce you receive! Plese let me know.

Italiano, what size tires you running? Looks great! Want to run a similar setup if I can manage it without stretching tires.

Yeah, that's no bueno for me. I don't want to stretch. I would like to get at least a 255 tire on there. I guess I would have to go with a bigger offset. Italiano, what's your drop? Rolled/pulled fenders? Looks great man!! I really want to run something similar, but I need a wider tire.

Yeah, I just checked out your Hyper Black Grids thread. Looks really good. I think I'm gonna try to fit larger tires with less drop... bforbrian had a set up I really liked. But I like your wheels better. I don't know if the 38 offset is going to throw me off. I think I might need to try a 45. But I love your wheels!!

Tnx I think 35et to 38et is perfect You will need spacers with that high of offset.

Whoops, I guess I could have checked your sig to see your drop...

Yeah, I like the looks of the ~38 offset. Of course, a lower offset would be awesome, but I don't think there's any way I could fit that and run the tires I want to. Am I right on that?

Will the 38 offset really effect the width of tires I can run? I'll have to find out some way if I am willing to sacrifice flushness for tire width. This is what I'm up against:

I really like this setup that bforbrian ran at one point.

18x9.5 +45 wrapped with 275/35R18

I'm assuming the reason he can fit that tire is because he has a 45 offset.

I like your wheels and more flush fit better, and also the concave wheel,, but because you have a 38 offset I don't know if that would prevent me from running a 255 or 275 series tire. I like to run your offset or maybe even a lower one to get more concave, but I'd have to run a skinnier tire right? And probably stretch.

But I love your look. 18x9.5 +38 with 235/40R18 (of course you already know that)

If I could blend these two cars and make it work on my car I would die a happy man.

Basically, I would like to run 18x9.5 +30 (ish) with 275/35R18. Possible you think? What offsets do the rota's come in?

U will definately rub with a et 30,u can run a 245 with et38 if u don't go as low as me. But 275 is crazy, lol. I know rotas come in et30,38,and 45 I believe. I feel the et38 is the best choice,if thy mad it in et35 would have been perfect flushness. My tires are not streched that bad

Yeah, that sounds good. It seems I have a decision to make. Go for some concave and run 18x9.5 et 38/35 with 245 tires, or abandon concave and go for 18x9.5 et 48/45/43 and get a very wide tire.

I don't know what to do!!!!

I might give it my best shot for both... I don't want a 2.5 inch drop. I might try to fit it with a 1.5 drop. We'll see.

Yeah, but what size tires are those? I want to run a wide tire (NO STRETCH!) and I don't want any camber. It looks like you're running stretched tires with some camber in the rear, which I don't want to do. This is my DD and I drive quite a bit, so I want to keep it pretty driving friendly. The car looks GREAT though!

S/N - It is a freaking travesty that this car is FWD. I know it's a Honda/Acura but good lord the lines, stance, and wedge shape of this car just BEG to be RWD and staggered like crazy.

Reeeaalllyyy??? Interesting. Pics please??! I see you're running the aspec suspension so I wanna see how that drop looks on a similar set up.

What size tires do you have? I don't want to run camber though.

Yup, thats the way to go! I believe you can get that same look without the tire stretch and the camber kit, specially on a DD!

Yes they will, without any problem. You can go 18x9 up to a +35 offset without having to modify with camber kits, wheel stretching or rolling the fenders. The right tire size for the wheel you are looking at would be 235/40/18. It may be possible to go even more aggressive without mods, but I am giving you the info that I have worked with and no problem.

I believe you would have to roll the fenders, at least, if you want to go lower with that offset and wider tires. Right now you are stretching the wheels with a 225 on 18x9. In addition you could consider an "ingalls" camber kit for the rear. You could then go to 235/40/18, maybe 245. I am sure you will receive additional information from more knowledged AZINE members. I am giving you what I am pretty much set up with. I am running 18x9 with a +35 offset and 245/40/18, and A-SPEC suspention without any problems.
