Question 18" TSX A-Spec Wheels + 10mm spacers????

I have a free set of TSX A-Spec wheels 18x7.5 OFF +55

I have an 04 TL and don't want to use them because the OEM rim offset is +45 and I think it will look dumb.

So if I get 10mm spacers (or greater) is it the same as adding +10 to my offset and if so how do you think it will look?

I'm going to need new tires this summer so I need to know if i'm buying 17's or 18's

Thanks!

Joe

What size tire you looking to run? Looking at Tirerack's website, using the Pilot Sport A/S Plus as an example, it shows that a 235/40-18 and 245/40-18 tire both list 8" as the minimum rim width, with 8.5" being the optimum... The TSX rims are only 7.5", and the listed optimum size for that width wheel is 225/45-18.

235 is too wide for a 7.5, it will fit, but it will bulge.

Even with a 10MM spacer the wheel will be in 1/4" more than stock, but a 15MM spacer would take it to just about the stock position, but the lugs aren't long enough to accept that size, but then you could always run the adapters with lugs. It's also advisable, or at least my opinion, to run a 245/40-18, and that would certainly not be a go on a 7.5" width wheel. Either get the correct 18" width/offset or stay with the 17's and wrap them with some 245/45-17 rubber.
