18" A-spec wheel question.

Thought I'd post this in the TL forum. I know there are quite a few people with TSX's running with the 18" TL A-spec wheels, and IMO they look perfect. I would like to know the specs of the A-spec wheel, size, offset etc... and by reading several posts, they're many saying that the 04 TL A-spec wheel are 18x8.5 and the 04-05 A-spec wheel are 18x8 is this true? Obviously the ideal size for a TSX would be an 8" inch wheel with, but Preferably 18X8. and could anybody refer me where I could find these wheels at a good price?

Thanks
J

It's correct that 04 A-spec wheels are 18x8.5 and 05-up are 18x8. All of them have 45 offset. They weigh about 26-27 lbs each.

When the A-spec package first came out for the TL's....they were 18x8.5" ... but in 05 they redesigned the rim to 8" due to the fact that the rim stuck out so far there was HIGH incidence of rim rash that they were warranteeing due to poor design (they stuck out with no tire protection). They fixed this problem by going with an 8" rim....which brought the rim into the tire a bit more, providing for more protection at the same time keeping a flush look about the wheel well.

For wheels at a good price...I would check ebay personally. AofE parts or somebody of this nature. They are cheaper than local sources you will find in your town.

Here is a link to his store...I have gotten several rim sets from him. Safe dealer.

Thanks for the links, it looks like by purchasing from Acura of Escondido will save me some money! That's the exact reason why I thought I'd ask the question in regards to the wheel size and offset....I think they weight of the wheels are a little heavy, but I like the OEM look...thanks for your help MichaelBenz!

by the way, what are TPMS? Would I need to worry about this?

TPMS is Tire Pressure Monitoring System. There are two different types of rims for TL's...I dont know about TSX's. Here is the lowdown copied for you on the TL rims...
