Smile 18" A-spec Black Chromes or 07 TL-S 17" stocks???

Does anyone wanna throw in their opinion? I have the stock wheels that come with the 07 TL-S DWP... they look great on the white but would it be a downgrade to put the 18'' Black Chrome A-spec's on (as far as looks go? I like the look of both but for some reason I keep going back to the stock 17's. If I keep those would it be hard to sell 18" Black chromes? Has anyone seen pictures of a DWP with A-spec Black Chromes??? Thanks...

The TL-S should have come stock with the Black Chrome 18" A-Spec Wheel. If I were buying today, I'd upgrade to that wheel. I've got WDP and think it would look fantastic.

Only complaint I've got is I'd like to see that wheel as 18 x 8.5 or 18 x 9 with a 255 or 265 tire. The TL-S "deserves" a larger Wheel/Tire combination, IMHO.

I actually prefer the A-spec wheels. I think it's outrageous that those wheels are an "upgrade" from the stock Type-S wheels, and that Type-S owners would have to pay extra to get them, however! Is not the Type-S top-of-the-line, even over the A-spec?

A-Spec's for sure...MUCH more attractive than the Oversized Eggo Waffles that come stock on the TL-S.

I had the same question, but I went with the hyperblack A-spec rims (style that comes in the A-spec package) on my silver Type S. Though the stock 17" Type S wheels grew on me, they just don't compare to the 18" A-specs...IMO.

A-specs all the way.

Downgrade????? You've got what could possibly be the ugliest wheel Acura ever put on one of their cars.

Just imagine how good it would look with A-specs.

Here, I''ll help you with your decision

To be honest guys, the stock tls rims are hotter, i hated them at first when i saw them in pics, but in person they look pretty sweet on the lighter colored tls'(especially when dropped), i think the front lip kit for tls was a bad choice by acura, 04'-06' looks sweeter, but the rear of tls looks better(sorry to get off track, lol) just my 2 cents.

The Type S stock rims or horrid, the Base TL rims are much more sport drivin ( not much of a difference btween the ASPEC and the TL stock ones really)...

I disagree. Neither of the stock 17's touch the looks of the Aspec wheels....especially when you see them in person.

I hope this will post the picture of my car from photobucket!
When I purchased my 2007 TL Type S I told the dealer that I couldn't stand the black basket wheels that came with it. I switched to the stock wheels until I could afford to purchase the 18" A-Spec wheels. I wasn't going to purchase them from the dealer. Only problem with putting the stock wheels on the Type S car is the Brembo brake calipers were so close to the rims that I put 3 mm spacers on first for enough clearance. Looking at different sites like ebay, etc. to get the cheapest price for some new ones.

Thanks. The tires in the picture are Michelin Pilot Sports in a 255/40/18. They don't get much play on the board from members as they are pretty expensive but they are certainly one of my favorite tires I've ever owned.

You can buy the 18 inch A-Specs from Discount tire for $250 a wheel, thats a heck of a lot better than the $379 the dealer wants. By the way they are the exact same wheels that Acura sells you, Enkei (sp?) makes the wheels for Honda/Acura. Make sure that you buy the 04 A-Specs as they are 8.5 inches wide and the 05-06 are only 8 inches.

The 04 wheels don't have a provision for TPMS IIRC

That is a very good point if keeping the TPMS is something that you would like to keep. Also consider that after market wheels also don't provide for any kind of provision for the TPMS and somehow a lot of guys make due.

If I swapped my 17" factory wheels for 18" aspecs, would I have to change ANYTHING else on the car (or are these easily swappable.) Sorry, I'm a wheel novice here.

If you were changing from the stock 17s to the 18 inch A-spec nothing has to be done unless you have a TMPS. If you were changing to any other wheel you would need to make sure that the offset was enough to clear the brake calipers; that is more of an issue with TLs with Brembos. If you were to do snow tires cars with autos can handles 16s but cars with Brembos need 17s to clear the brakes.

I really don't know how much to get rid of my Rims + Tires + TMPS 07 TLS Stocks with the michelin tires that acrura puts on. I just got the Aspecs on with a Riken Raptor ZR tire 235 40z r18 95w I'm not a tire guru but they look clean and good enough for me... My dilemma now is which one I can sell to get money for my wedding in November... is it worth it to sell the Aspecs for more or sell the stocks for less obviously and be happy with the Aspecs...
I have the Aspec black chromes on now and I'm getting pics up... sorry guys, I've been working for the last 6 days...

why is it so difficult to find images of aspec stuff and all these rims online? It's kind of ridiculous. You would assume that acura would want to move these things because it could keep their costs down and bring additional profits. It isn't like they move that many cars at any dealership...

Ramrod it is all in what you will be happy with and still be married. I have the stock 17" wheels on my TL-S and it is better than the ones it came with, but I only did that temporarily. I figure I can get around 700. for the rims and tires and then upgrade to the A-Specs. I am not familiar with the tires you have on your A-Specs. I know I want to get some and am just continuing to look until I find the right ones. Are yours brand new? Post the pictures as soon as you can!
