Which 18" Rims? Enkei RPM2 vs. New A-Spec

http://www.enkei.com/jpeg%20files/Wheels/RPM2_HB.jpg

a.) Enkei RPM=19.4 lbs

http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...wWheels001.jpg

b.) Current A-Spec (Ebony/Platinum)=~26lbs

A-Specs are heavier, pricier, and more common--but look sweeet!

Enkeis are lighter, cheaper and also look sharp.

Either of these wheels will eventually run on A-Spec suspension only and in 18s only.
Thanks!

RPM2's are the shit, dont see em too often either.

Steven Bell 03-04-2008 11:25 AM

The Enkei RPM's sure look nice. Besides, they look different than what comes standard on the TL's. the A-Specs kinda remind me of that. Be different....go for the Enkei RPM's. It sets your apart.

Why not just get what you like best & stop worrying about what others think?

bigBLACKTL 03-04-2008 12:30 PM

HAHA i'll have to say ASPECS only because its a known fact that they will look sexy. Plus those mesh style are only gonig to be 18's soo they might look a little small.. iunoo its up too you i got aspec's they look pretty hot for 18's.

definitely RPM2s
no question about it :D

emas 03-04-2008 09:48 PM

definately the A spec

rockyfeller 03-04-2008 11:21 PM

Enkeis definitely look nice. I just think mesh style rims don't really go well with the TL. Spoked wheels look better. If the A-Spec wheels were put on a different car I don't think I would like them either. The thing is it looks SO right on the TL! It just totally goes with the lines of the car. (You'll know what I mean if you have seen them on an RL or TSX. They look best on the TL!)

A-Spec is your wheel, you've seen the pics. They are common for a reason, you can't go wrong.

minkl81 03-05-2008 03:35 AM

rpm2 is good looking wheel. i had them on my previous car and quality it top notch too.

heres pics for your reference on my previous car (17x7)

Those wheels are hot looking on that blue. I am in the market for new wheels to replace my stock TL Type S (kinetic blue pearl) wheels. I am thinking of getting the Ron Jon Legend in gunmetal. But after seeing these RPMs on the blue TSX, I might have to reconsider.

08TYPE_S 03-07-2008 12:24 AM

Wait...that's not a TSX. It looks like you got Honda logo on the grill and on the back of the trunk. Is that a European Accord? Sorry to digress here. As for the wheel, I would go with the Enkei RPM2.

bigBLACKTL 03-07-2008 12:35 AM

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Specsss

aznbo187 03-07-2008 03:20 AM

A-specs!

stillhere153 03-07-2008 08:45 AM

^ dayum mike you make coilovers look like air bags

I LOVE THE RPM2... light... not very popular and have no lip which makes them look slightly bigger... with the correct tire they will look perfect

I would do 245/40-18... but you will always have to have tire shine on or they will look out o place

lights 03-07-2008 03:41 PM

A spec no doubt!!
just think about the time you have to spend to clean those RPM2.
you can spend the extra time admiring your ride instead....:D

DrMooCow 03-07-2008 09:49 PM

I vote for A-spec rims. I think it looks great.

What specs r those tires?

Thinking of whether or not to keep my 18" RPM's.

VegasRPh 03-09-2008 11:11 PM

A-Specs!!!!!

i believe they were 225/45/17

TL_moda 03-10-2008 09:11 PM

i vote is for a-spec also

t0talacuratl 03-11-2008 08:09 AM

I'm torn! I love the looks of the aspec better, but the rpm's are lighter. One thing I notice is that the tires in the previous pics look funny on the rpm's (too much sidewall). If you find the right tires, the rpm's would look hot!

enigmaos 03-11-2008 08:16 AM

aspecs on one side and RPM2s on the other. :naughty: :teef:

stillhere153 03-11-2008 10:24 AM

I think enkei discontinued the rpm2.... the good news is they've rolled out a few lightweight wheels that look sick... look into new products... all around the $1k mark for 18"

enigmaos 03-11-2008 12:14 PM

discontinued!? "Enkei" FS-01 :naughty:

08TYPE_S 03-11-2008 11:24 PM

The only caution I would have for the RPM2 is that it has a larger center bore diameter (73 mm) than the TL's stock wheel (64.1 mm). Would this be a problem with the wheel being lug-centric and not hub-centric?

enigmaos 03-11-2008 11:26 PM

^hub centric rings will fix that problem. ;)
