Hello everybody, I have been lurking here since I got my new (to me) 99 TL a few weeks ago. My apologies if this has been posted before, it would be great if one could search the info on these boards more efficiently. (n e body? have i just not seen the search link yet?) From what I've learned, here's what I still want to know:

Question: Rims i want are 17X7 with +42 offset. Tires I want are 215/50/17. I have no plans to lower the car. SOrry to sound like a broken newby record, but will it rub? What about a smaller tire, like a xxx/45/17? I feel that that size might look silly on a non lowered car, but if i understand correctly, this offset will move the tire outward in the wheel well significantly, so will it look larger? Also, by changing to the 45 how much will I be confusing the speedo and ECU? I don't need numbers.... "too much" or "don't worry" will do.

Also, sorry, i'm not hardcore enough to get 18's. don't bother

17x7 +42 with 215/50-17 will fit just fine, even with your car dropped. You could also think about going with 225/50-17 for a wider look. Good luck and welcome to the forum!
