1,500 mile update on my 255/40 G-forces
And it's not a good one. Performance is amazing as I shortened stopping distances from 60 mph by over 20' and can carry almost 10 more mph into the same sharp corner. Very good performance increase from a non-R compound tire. These are the Z- rated KDW tires with a different tread pattern than the normal KDW tires.
Now, for the bad. TIRE NOISE. It's driving me absolutely crazy. My car feels like a cheap POS with all this damn noise. They've gotten louder since new. I tried raising and lowering the pressure with very little change. No abnormal wear. Tried rotating. Made sure the directional arrows are pointing the right way. I'm planning to dynamat the whole car for the stereo and hopefully it will help. I feel like pulling the E-brake and doing a burnout so I have no choice but to buy new tires.
I originally wanted good stopping performance above all but when the road noise almost drowns out 2,500 watts worth of bass from the stereo, something is wrong. Keep in mind I have a not so quiet 600hp GN that I drive occasionally so I'm not being overly picky here.
Almost forgot, they are quieter than stock at freeway speeds.

Sort of goes with the territory. By the end of the summer I look forward to putting my 235/45/17's back on and enjoying some piece and quiet for a few months. I've yet to find a quiet ultra performance tire.

I Have an Altima 3.5SE which i lowered with the Nismo Suspension and put Max performance summer tires on the car. he combination of the extremely stiff suspension and the tires made ride comfort unbearable (noise included). I've since gone with the Yokohama Advan S4 (a tire upgrad recommended for cars like the Lexus LS and Mercedes S Class) and the harsh ride was improved very much, and noise reduced.
The tire was so great that the Yokohama Advan S4 is the only tire I will ever drive on again. It truly defeats the Pirelli All-Season tire without a doubt; which is the tire priased as one of the best all-season tires out there.
