06 TL factory chrome rims..peeling..with pics

so i just purchased this TL and i am picking it up on thursday from the dealer. Go it for $22500...the car is in amazing shape...quick question..as you can see from the pics...the factory TL rims have a chrome finish to them..has anyone ever seen this before on the TL rims?...was this done by the dealer when the car was new? did the first and only owner do this mod on his/her own? this issue is that the chrome is starting to peel on every rim...this is a certified acura so if this was a factory option, can i get the peeling chrome fixed at the dealership under warranty?

any suggustions??...i can get close up pics when i pic up the car on Thursday

here is the dealer pics of the car.... if warranty you look at the close up of the one rim you can see the peeling towards the back of the rim...

since your car is certified, go back to the dealer and get them to give you rims that aren't covered in aluminum foil

Mmmmmmm WDP/Ebony 6-speed with Navi. Great find! Get them to swap wheels with you or to give you a better deal so you can go out and pick up some wheels for it.

Definitely see if you can get the dealer to fix or replace the wheels. Eventually that chrome will start peeling to the inside of the wheel and the tires will start leaking. At that point your only options will be to repair or replace the wheels at your own cost.

I had a similar issue with my 07, it looked like a "clear coat" finish was flaking off one of my rims. I took it to the dealer and they said they hadn't seen that issue before so they call a Acura rep to come look at it. Two weeks later they replaced the rim under warranty

Would the wheels be apart of the powertrain warranty or the bumper to bumper warranty?
