they arn't per say crappy but their is definately much better options out there
id recommend the piaa silicone wipers. for a set its like 40 bucks, it wipes a sheet of silicone over the windshield while wiping and the silicone makes the rain form into beads and it rolls right off the top of the car, well worth the money;.

The wipers on my '07 TL-S are THE WORST wipers I have ever seen in any car. I've owned roughly 20 new cars in my life and have driven dozens more.
The driver's side blade actually seems to pull water ONTO the windshield from the left side. The blades also "shudder." They whole system has a Walmart feel to it.
Changing blades produced no improvment.
There are just too many "little things" that weren't properly thought out in this car...

The wipers on my 06 were very good stock. I just replaced them with Rain-X Latitude wipers and they are great. They could not do a better job. No shudder here.

The wipers STILL suck. There is a strange "pooling" effect on the driver's side windshield and the wipers pull water back towards the center of the windshield whenever they wipe.
It doesn't matter what kind of blade I use.
I think it's related to the car's aerodynamics, which form a high pressure area near the edge of the windshield.
This entire car is a farce in my opinion and I'm dumping it the month is paid for.

I recommend using a clay bar on the windshield , apply some rainx, and use a set of piaa super silicone wipers. I had no problems with this combo on my TL so give it a try.

Don't have a problem with the blades themselves, but I hate how the stream from the fluid sprayers hits the wiper arms and frags liquid all over the place. Sometimes I want to just smash the hump in the arms with a hammer so the spray will clear the arms.

Has anybody tried these? http://g-ecx.images-amazon.com/image.../160855530.pdf
Are they any good?

The two loaners they gave me while they were serving mine under warranty both did the same thing as mine, so I can't believe that the problem is somehow "uunique" to my car.

Don't know what to say then. Seems like everyone else is ok with how their's work. So it must be something common to all tl's according to your observations but not something most people noticed.

All I did was respond to this thread. I've seen others mention these same problems in other threads.
These wipers are what I might expect to find in a 10 year Hyundai; they'd be laughed off the Autobahn during the first downpour. They are not "precision crafted performance;" for that matter, neither is the rest of the car...

Notice that he oh-so-innocently just "responded" to a two or three year old thread?
Responding, argueing, refuting, even AGREEING, will get you no where. No kidding, just look at his posts from 2004 and 2007 and decide for yourself.
It's like wrestling with a pig - you both end up dirty, but the pig likes it.

A LOT of people on this site have pointed out problems with this car that are clearly real. Many just don't know enough about brakes to understand how over-rated these are. They see the "BREMBO" name and a couple of good, one time "panic stops" in ROAD AND TRACK and then assume that means this car has brakes that are suitable for a REAL performance sedan. It doesn't and it's not.
Go drive a new Accord. I have and it stops every bit as well as this super duper Acura TL Type S. The new BWM M3 I drove a couple of weekends ago had brakes that were in a whole different league - despite the fact that it uses SINGLE PISTON, "no name" calipers (but rotors that are adequately sized for a car of that weight and mission.)
I'm forking over a grand a month for this thing (3 year loan) and the car simply doesn't feel or drive that well. It drives like an Accord would drive if the Acura name didn't exist. It drives nothing like a 3 series, a Lexus IS or even a G35.

First- stop bumping threads that are almost 3 years old.
Second- You did your rant thread but quite frankly I am sick and tired of seeing bitch threads that accomplish nothing. If you have a problem, post a thread and everyone tries to help. That's part of the reason this forum exists. If you don't like that policy then- sorry.
Third- why the hell did you get the car in the first place if you were looking for a true performance sedan? On second thought- I really don't care. Pay off your car, trade it in, drive it into a ditch- do whatever you want but stop trolling.
