Windows get foggy

Hey,

I've noticed this problem ever since it has been cold out.

I park inside every night, but every time I drive my car, 5 minutes later all my windows fog up. The only way I get rid of the fog on the windshield is to turn on the windshield defroster. Then the WINDSHIELD fog goes away quickly after 10 seconds.

Then I turn off the defroster (man that thing is loud?), the fog comes right back up after like 2 minutes of turning off the defroster.

Anyone have any tips on what the problem is?

I also walk out to my car after a day of work and it's fogged up.

It's weird seeing my car in a parking lot all fogged up while all the cars around don't fog up.

put the car to vent...not circulate...you should not fog then. you have excess humidity in your car.

if you're really hot or sweaty like after going to the gym...you can fog your windows too.

Thanks for the replies!

I DO NOT have my heater on. Therefore it fogs up regardless.

How do I put it to "vent" lol.
As I said, I don't drive with the heater.

My awesome snowboard jacket keeps me warm enough for the daily drive.

My car would fog up all the time and it was because of the water that was getting inside the car. So it was really humid. Make sure you don't got any water leaks.

Yes-- you have excessive moisture in the air within car that is condensing. Carrying moisture into the car interior on your garments, from rain or snow, increases the problem.

After you turn off the defroster, set the climate control to "Auto" and set a comfortable temp. The A/C will remove the moisture in the air and keep the car windows clear.

There's a air recirculation button in the car.

When the car is on and when you enable the air recirculation button it will light up orange. That button closes the vents so only the air inside the car gets recirculated and does not allow outside fresh air to come in.

It's possible that you may have the air recirculation button enabled even though your car is turned off because that is the last mode that you have left it at.

To find out, turn your car on to on or start your car. Look at the air recirculation button to see if it has a orange light next to it. If so, than that may be the reason why the inside of your car gets foggy. Try disabling it so the vents open and lets outside fresh air in even when the car is turned off.

maybe you just give off more moisture in the car than the rest of us do

is your HVAC off when you drive?? you said you dont' use the heater. that maybe why you fog. you're not circulating ANY of the air. my HVAC is always on low (one bar). usually set to 74 (yeah i get cold easy), and rarely use the air circulation function. try setting the temp to 68 or something, set the HVAC on the lowest setting and see if that minimzes the fogging you experience. when vented, the air in the car is regulated for humidity and temp.

^ I thought it absorbs moisture too. You can also try Rain X Anti Fog.

Turn the A/C on. No, its not going to blow cold air. It just takes the moisture out of the air. I guarantee you it'll work.

I have the same problem with my car too. I'll get in and there won't be fog, but after a few minutes, the windows will start to fog. I usually just blast the defroster for a second and then turn the A/C on with whatever temperature settings I have.

have you checked to see if your car "pees" condensation when you have your a/c on? I wonder if the drain plug is clogged or something so the water sits inside the car. In that case no matter how much a/c you do it'll just stay inside the car.
