Will dealers Service Bulletin 05-017 on a 2005??

for a while now i notice the vibration between 50-60 mphs when rmp is around 1500 but I never thought there was a service bulletin (05-017 5th gear vibration or Drone). My question is its applies to 2004 TL with A/t on the bulletin. has anyone got their local dealer install this on anyother year TL with a/t?? I've called two dealers and they decline to service my car sinces its a 2005. I have the extended warranity also.

How much is that dynamic damper kit?

they refuse to service it since it's already on the car.

I dont understand why the service people dont even know that already then. one guy told me to call other dealers until I get lucky and find one that will do it as a goodwill fix.

ok thanks!

Old thread, I know; however, I found myself referred to it from a search.

Anyway, I don't believe the damper is already on the '05 TLs. My car ('05 TL - 04/2005 build) is in the air and neither the damper (step 5) nor the damper mounting bracket (step 4) exist. Step 4 and 5 are being referenced from <https://acurazine.com/forums/showpost.php?p=8345507&postcount=28> .

Of course, I guess it's always possible that it was removed at some point or it was added to later build dates for the '05.

I am experiencing the symptoms exactly as described in the TSB and am considering applying the TSB to my '05 TL. Having said that, I feel that the TSB resolution is a band-aid solution.

It's possible the TSB fix was a "band aid" until a better fix could be developed and incorporated.

It's unlikely that a dealer would perform the fix on a car not in the VIN range. One reason would be as above: another solution was incorporated into later builds.

Well Bearcat, it appears you were right. I just finished installing the damper kit (50207-SEP-305) from the TSB and my first impression, from a short drive, is that there is no noticeable difference. In fact, as soon as I opened the kit and saw the "damper", I had my doubts of its effectiveness to dampen anything due to the fact that the kit is still bolted on metal to metal. Maybe it helps with a more severe driveline vibration and I'm just being too sensitive or maybe I just don't recall how severe the vibration was before I installed the kit.

In case someone didn't catch what this was applied to, it is a 4/2005 build TL.

Anyway, the kit weighs in at ~6lbs and can be had from bernardi (http://acura.bernardiparts.com/) for ~$75 +t/s.

On a side note, the 3rd and 4th gear pressure switches feel nice so it wasn't a total waste of under-the-car time.

Ehhh, sorry to hear that. Despite my stated doubts, I would've been happy to hear you had found a fix.
