okay so i thought it was the weak amsoil anti drainback valve but well, just changed to purolator blue one i got really cheap, and still has the same problem.

car has been fine with stock size amsoil filter with the oil pressure light going off immediately when starter stops and rpm soars to 1200

is it because the filter's "bigger" it has to fill more before car sees some pressure?

I guess I have to ask, why are you running a Honda S2000 filter instead of a TL filter?

the theory is there's more flow, filter media, and more volume with the s2k filter.

people with different hondas have also been using them as well for some time.

Just how long do you have to wait for oil pressure? a split second?

yes. With stock filter, it goes out as the rpm soars.

These big filter, maybe half a sec? Because i saw the rpm reach 1200 then "hmm? Wtf?" then it goes off

soooo.... i did have a bad bump-stopping thud while running the S2000 filter but there's no leak and i'm leaning toward the sensor failure???? is it common? @ 110k miles?

Better filter build quality, better filter media, more filter media, better anti-drain back valve.

Difference in total volume (NOT including filter media, i.e. the volume of the 'can' only) is fairly small .... 5% or 7%, iirc .... ?? There's a thread where I posted the cylindrical volume of both.

I've run the PCX-004 for all but the first two oil changes. I've never noticed the oil pressure staying on long enough to notice.

I have a skinnier looking Purolator filter. Takes just about a second after the engine starts for oil pressure light to turn off.
