When I turn on the rear defroster, FM radio turns to static

its pretty funny actually. doesnt happen with XM only FM. why is this?

Your car tinted? Metallic Tint? If so maybe the defroster lines are damaged and shorting to the tint which is causing interference with the fm antenna (dot matrix) on your rear glass. This is alll speculation though... more likely than not I'm totally wrong

yes i am tinted. idk if its metallic or not. tints were put on back in june. i never needed the rear defroster in the summer and 95% of the time i listen to xm.
