Water leak .. ECU/PCM seem to be fine.. HELP!!!
 

i know a lot of people said the AC leaking/ being clogged would be the culprit of my melted coil however the plug was loose which i thought was the issue.. i never felt any wetness until today... my ac randomally started going slower so i turned it off and noticed water leaking where the passengers feet go, straight ahead, if it is clogged, how do i unclog it? can i still drive my car? I hope the ECU didn't fry and it just missed it or something, I touched what I believe is the ECU and what I believe the PCM and they are dry. Here are some pics of what's going on. I also found what looks to be a plug that could possibly hold water in.

I should add ever since I changed out all my coils and spark plugs my car has been running beautiful, however seeing this is very questionable

FYI, the ECU and PCM are one and the same. Technically, I think one is for the MT, the other for the AT, but not sure about that.

The drain tube is in the engine compartment near the firewall on the passenger side. You'll have to access it from underneath the car looking up.

You probably had mice or some other small rodent living in your A/C ducts. Have you pulled your filter yet? Better check that.

The drain tube gets plugged from the bottom, usually road debris or a spider building a web/home in the end of the tube. I doubt the rodents had anything to do with the blockage.

If the engine is running fine, then you might be lucky. I wouldn't put power on the car until you can get the tube unblocked and everything dried out. I'd run a fan on the ECU area for a few hours.

which filter? i have a CIA, and where abouts is that tube? is it as simple as pulling the tube out and letting the water pour out? possibly need an air compressor? and like i said those parts are all dry.. i don't tbink anytbing linked on the computers .. the leak stopped when i put the piece back in and took acorns out, u think i still need a good look?

cabin air filter, behind the glove box. you might have a ton of acorns sitting on the top of it....

The drain tube is that rubber hose running into the floor. Get a shallow bucket and yank that rubber out from the passenger side floor and take a compressed air to from the mechanics shop. You can try putting a flexible firm wire in there too incase it's clogged up. The air and the wire should be the best bet to clear anything if clogged. If it is indeed clogged, be prepared for alot of water.

lol feeling like a noob, thanks for the replies, will try ideas and update, however was I correct about my ECU location? All I care about is that thing being dry right now lol

yes! Under the radio is ECU!!!

Dunno, I'd be careful about "yanking" the tube out. It might be difficult to thread it back through the hole. I'd probably get at it from under the car...

i pulled mine out and put it back in no problem. It's a rubber hose and easier to put back on than the gas cap. It's not held in by anything, just pokes through a rubber grommet. Saves the trouble of raising the car up.

I'd still check the drain tube....

better to be safe than sorry.

as for the HFL, just unplug it and leave it!
