VSA and ABS lights stay on?

Hi, new here. I recently purchased an Acura CPO 2004 5AT. I love the car, huge upgrade from my previous set of wheels. Unfortunately today I fear I might have messed something up on the car.

I had to accelerate pretty quickly from a stop to avoid being rear-ended(dont you love people that place their cell phone concersations at a higher priority than driving when behind the wheel...). Anyway, the wheels spun some and the VSA and ABS indicators lit up. I tried restarting the car and it changed nothing. Any idea what the problem and/or solution could be? Another thing is that I wont be able to get over to the dealer until monday at the earliest, but in all likelyhood not until tuesday. Would it be safe to continue to use the car or does it sound like I'll be causing more damage? Thanks.

Yup, both of the lights are still on. I ended up having to use the car the past two days, thankfully without any problems. You can definately feel a change with the lack of abs and traction control however. I'll be calling the dealer tomorrow morning and hopefully getting it in there either tomorrow afternoon or Tuesday.

you have stumped the band- thats pretty amazing!
Please let us know what the dealer says- if its just a reset device-- if it thinks there was a crash, or what.

I'm guessing you have a speed sensor for one of the wheels that has gone bad. This happened to me before several years ago, and Acura replaced it under warranty.

Sorry about the earlier outburst, i was frustrated.

I took the car in this past Friday and, ITL you were right, the dealer determined that it was one of the wheel sensors. Unfortunately theyre on backorder so it will be at least a week until they can replace it. I also had them adjust my drivers side wiper arm since it was hitting the windshield molding.

On top of that I have noticed a faint noice coming from the brakes since the test drive. They replaced my rear pads due to "hard spots," but they must have messed something up because the car was making way more noise than when I brought in. So the car is back in the shop until at least monday. Needless to say im not happy about that.

the same thing happened to me and it was just low on brake fluid. I filled it back up and the lights went away.

If you are low on brake fluid- have the brake pads checked asap!

The fluid goes down into the caliper farther when the pads get low- and the resievor is where it comes from~

If its not low pads- there is a leak- which is also very bad

I went and picked up the car this afternoon. They said the brake shield must have gotten bent when they put the calipers back on and were very apologetic. They also said that the wheel sensor should be in either late this week or early next.

Good to hear. Glad it's an easy fix. Too bad they didn't have any in stock...
