Used Syn Valvoline ATF in my low miles 2006
With only 27.5k miles on the clock I decided to change my factory Z1 trans fluid - I know sacrilege for not using Red Line. After 11 years the Z1 fluid didn't look too bad and still had some color to it. My TL hasn't had any trans or shifting problems to date, but I thought it prudent to change the trans fluid after these many years. I used Valvoline Synthetic ATF, because I've had great results in everything I own (4x4 transfer cases, ATV's and Harleys). The TL seems to like it too. Shifts are crisp with zero slip or surge. My plan is to drain 3 quarts, every oil other oil, and add fresh Valvoline ATF. I'll change the trans filter next year, just because I like to keep thing clean.
Next on my list is PS flush and fresh fluid with a touch of Blue Devil to keep the seals nicely swelled.. I'll also bleed the brakes and flush with fresh fluid this summer.
I've had no squaks on my TL since new and i plan on keeping it this way. FWIW - when I do drive my TL it's likely ridden hard and put away hot!
