Trying to get LED DRLs working
I just bought my 2008 NVP TL 2 weeks ago and the first thing I wanted to do was replace the DRLs with LEDs. I have 120 SMD lights and they are awesome. I also have a 50w 8ohm resistor for each side. My problem is that neither turns on unless the regular halogen bulb is connected to one side and the LED and resistor on the other. What are my options to receive full 12v power to both LEDs? I'm thinking of running a switch to the dash next to the mirror controls and wiring them direct to the battery or the fogs.
Any suggestions?

I have a general idea but how simple is it to go with the switch? Ive got everything I need already as opposed to buying the iJDM kit.

The OEM DRL's are in series. You would need 9005 LED's wired for 6V to run as is. As far as I know these don't reasonably exist, and modifications to make 12V LED bulbs run on 6V would be somewhat complicated, and would still likely be problematic.
You can get 12V on one plug, by 'shorting' out one side, and running both sides off the power supplied from one. This would best be done by making a harness that plugs into one side and has two plugs, one long enough to reach the other side.
The DRL light on the dash will still be lit until there is a bit over 2A load, the OEM bulbs take something like 3-4A depending on voltage at the time. You can toss a load resistor in parallel with the LED DRL's to make this go away. You only really need one if you go this route.

I just installed the "9005 xenon plasma" DRLs bulbs that i got from http://autolumination.com/. and it wouldn't turn on when i start up the car. are there anything that i need to do in order for them to work?
thanks in advance
