Transmission shifting hard
2008 base TL. When shifting from 2nd to 3rd, the car seems to shift pretty hard, jerking the car slightly, mostly noticeable at lower RPMS. I could shift better manually if I had a 6 spd
I tried searching for similar issues and I didn't find anything that matched exactly... but it seems everyone recommends changing the 2 pressure sensors and changing the fluid. Is this something I should take to Acura? I have a 2yr bumper to bumper warranty on it but I'm not sure this is covered. Also, is this really the recommended fix for this issue?

Change your 3rd and 4th gear Pressure Switches first. It's simple to do and they can be purchased from our vendors on here for roughly $90 shipped for the pair. While you're at it, change the ATF (auto tranny fluid) if you haven't recently. Most popular ATF's here are Redline (D4 or Type-F/Racing), Mobil-1 & Amsoil.
Wouldn't hurt to take it in and suggest this since you have a warranty though

They all shift hard at low rpms 2-3. Ours has done it for the 5 years we've owned the car and also other TL's I driven, no problem.
I've seen that a great many feel that the TL shifts smooth and they advocate the use of a combination of fluids to improve the shifting, but as far as I'm concerned, the shifting of the trans with the Honda fluid is not lacking and shifts are very crisp, no lag or slip.

Does it aslo shift hard while downshifting? I recently bought a 07 tls 5at with 60k miles and it shifts hard while downshifting from 4to3(believe that is the shift, may be 3-2). And i mean this as in starting to apply the brakes to come to a stop, not as in hammering down the go pedal. Took it to the dealership and they said there is nothing wrong and everything is acting normal
Would you guys suggest doing a fluid change to the above recommended trans fluid to see if that helps? thanks in advance

Thanks Turbonut for the links and clarifying that for me to give me a piece of mind. Ive always been a GM guy and non of those vehicles did anything along those lines so was just a little worried.
