Transmission Shift Point Seems off

I have a 2004 Acura TL, 111K miles. The ATF fluid was replaced at 88K by an Acura dealer.

When gently accelerating to highway speed, the RPM surges much higher than it used to: over 3k before shifting (I think going from 4th to 5th gear). The lower gear shift points are fine.

After it warms up it seems to work OK.

I emailed a local dealer's service department and suggested the 3rd and 4th gear pressure switches need replacing (After reading a gazillion threads here).

He said they generally don't fail and if they did a check engine light would come on.

Any ideas?

yes they don't fail and when they do you will need to replace the whole transmission. Take chance or not that up to you, hint dealer did not acknowledged 2G TL AT suck ball but the reality seem to be well Honda AT does suck ball.
