Torn Leather Seats - Looking for a replacement
Hi,
I'm not sure if anyone else has experienced this problem, but the two-toned leather seats in my '07 TL-S has gotten to the point that I think I need to replace them (as in driver, passenger, and back seats
)
At this point, I feel like I only have two options. I can either get the seats replaced completely or get them reupholstered.
Does anyone have any input on this before I make my decision?? Has anyone else experienced this before?

I've been looking at the same issue. Bought my 08 TL-S and there was a small tear in the drivers seat that has progressively gotten worse. Just for the seat base cover it is $900+ through the dealer, and that is just for the cover. Some of the vendor sites have have the covers for around $650. Personally I'm holding out for a pick'n'pull yard to let me know when a TL-S comes in and I'll pillage that.

Stop by the local upholstery shop and see what they say, used seats front/rear, change and replace with Katzkin if they have any available for the TL-S. Looks like it's going to be big $$$$$$$$$$$.

Reupholster is the best bet. This is not a bad time to learn how to DIY. The cheapest option if you really want to repair it.

I do not know if you got new covers yet. I have a colleague who has had experience with customizing cars. He used to work for a shop that would prep cars for shows etc. For leather he has said, that we should try looking for a boat upholstery shop. They are less expensive versus an auto upholstery shop. Also they ( boat upholstery) uses similar/same material as a auto upholstery shop.
It can save you couple of $$$. See if this helps you..
