Torn drivers seat (leather) couple other questions

Hey,

It's been awhile since I've been on here so I figured I'd post again as I got a few questions.

I'm now at 118k miles and have a couple new issues.

It appears the side mirrors are starting to "leak". They have a dark spotty look to them, not terrible yet but you notice it.

What can be done about that? I'm assuming I have to replace the glass?

The drivers seat also has a pretty big tear in it. Should I look for a new seat (used) or can the leather be repaired?

Also, I did the 3x3 transmission fluid change at 105k, also new plugs, and air filter. I haven't done the shift solenoids but might do that soon. I also haven't replaced the rear tail light board yet (I have several LEDs burned out).

Anything else I should be addressing at this mileage? Timing belt was done at 90k, with the water pump. I'm assuming the coolant was replaced then so that should still be good.

Don't assume anything. If you don't have a record if the coolant being serviced correctly, I would get that done.

As far as your options for the seat: the cheapest one is to find a reputable interior/leather/upholstery shop in your area. They can repair it with matching leather for a very good price, far less than new leather padding from Acura or even a salvaged seat.

Check the cabin filter too, and replace the PCV valve, both easy tasks. I think the mirror glass shoudl just pop out and in, but I have only done that on Toyotas so I'm not entirely sure.....

I'll change out the coolant. I'm assuming there is a write up on it? And what coolant should i use?

I figured a reputable upholstery place would be best.

I'll replace the PCV and check the filter. Any particular PCV brand or just any parts store PCV valve for it?

Does anyone else know about the mirrors?

I'd get the bottoms reupholstered. You can DIY or at least take the lowers seats off and take it to a upholstery shop. Should be cheap.

So you can just take the lower part (where your butt is) off without removing the entire seat?

How do you go about this and is it a PITA?

No, but the seat is only held in by a few bolts. Easy removal, PITA part is disconnecting the connectors under the seat and removing upholstery staples. After that you can unhook the lower leather portion. It's really not that difficult to do.

Once you have it removed you can have any upholstery shop stitch in the new material. Cheapest method is to source the material you want and bring it in with the lower cover. Difficult part is color matching the material you buy online.

Anyone have a source for the grey leather that is used on these seats?
