Thumbs down TL Type S Engine Swap?! Recommendations?

I have had a misfire for about half a year now, brought it to Honda, they said there's a compression issue in cylinder 5 & 6. 120psi CL5. 100psi CL6. All the rest of the Cylinders were 180-190. Keep in mind I already replaced sparkplugs and nearly all the coil packs. I swapped coil packs and made sure, still didn't work.

Now the story behind WHY this is happening is roughly two years ago in Aug 2011 I sucked a bit of water through my intake during one of the NJ random rain storms. I managed to turn it over after taking all the spark plugs out, while turning it over it shot water out of cyl 5 & 6. After i reinstalled the sparkplugs, it did turned on. However I believe this the main cause of this misfire + issue.

After Honda In Kingston NY said they can't do the work, for whatever reason. So I then brought it to Acura. Acura did a diagnostic said the car needs a new engine off the bat after they also did a compression test etc. The car ran rough, but after taking it to Acura Of Wappingers Falls the engine literally runs terribly and misfires worse than It had been before I brought it to the dealer. I find it weird that suddenly it started there. But I doubt I am going to get far pointing fingers.

So currently I am in a deadlock on whether to replace the engine, or look into the problem more and maybe find an alternative solution. What should I do? I just freaking got the clutch replaced!! I love this car.... ATLP etc... :/

-Ryan.

When you had water in the cylinders, did you crank the car or run it with the water in after which you removed the plugs and the water 'shot out'? It sounds like it was hydrolocked. You may have some bent connecting rods (as well as piston damage), and that would make it run poor, but as for a misfire, I'm not sure. As for what to do, it sounds like a engine rebuild (or a teardown to see what's faulty) or replacement is in order

What I did was, I saw I was going into about up to the door level water. So I immediately turned the car off. Then it wouldn't start, so I pushed it into a driveway and asked a near by neighbor for some tools and proceeded with taking the sparkplugs out etc. I have a cold air intake, I dont believe this would have happened without one since the OEM is much higher. I'm clueless what I should do next with this crap.

If there is someone reliable, and isnt going to charge me a fortune. I'd be willing to drive an hour in NY or CT. IF anyone has ideas for a shop.

Currently brought it to a good local shop up here in Willow NY. I'll see what happens. I'd rather replace components than an entire engine! :P

The shop I have my car at is wondering if there are aftermarket injectors available that could compliment my system of mods. Currently they're going through a checklist of items that could possibly giving me an issue of the misfire. He did a leakdown test, wet & dry. I believe from what he said to me, CL5 was the one with the misfire, they did it wet then it went from 100psi-175 around where all the others are. So he believes it could be sticky injectors or the rings are in need of replacement. So are there ANY aftermarket mods/parts that I should be considering while the engine is getting taken essentially apart?

Thanks everyone!
