TL-S 6MT - Low coolant level - residue on reservoir

Hey Guys,

I have a quick question for you all. I have an '07 TL-S 6MT with 135km (84mi) and while I was trying to inspect my front motor mount, I notice that my coolant level was just below minimum in the reservoir tank.

I tried to pinpoint the leak and found a tiny bit of residue around the top of the coolant reservoir and there is a slight residue along the right side of the reservoir tank (looking from the engine bay pov of course). I was trying to take some pictures of the residue but the camera couldn't quite capture it. If needed, I'll try grab some pictures in better lighting. I was going to check the rad if the coolant level was full but currently the engine is hot and will inspect later though I did a quick check of the undercarriage a week ago during an oil change and there were no leaks other than a tad bit of oil around the oil pan due to a faulty oil pump seal.

The vehicle had a coolant flush in around October 2015 when the car was sitting around 126km (77mi), and didn't have any issues with coolant levels before it. In approx. March upon a quick check of fluids and what not, I saw the coolant level had dropped ever so slightly but didn't really pay any attention to it but continuously checked periodically for changes in which nothing caught my attention in terms of leaks. The car has never had any overheating issues and runs perfectly smooth even today where it was around 37 Degrees Celsius according to the on-board temperature gauge.

Anyways, I'm just wondering if any of you have had a similar problem and resolved it. Does it seem to be a coolant reservoir problem or some sort of pressure failure from a bad radiator cap? For now I'm going to go to my local Acura dealership and purchase some coolant for the time being until I'm lead into the proper direction into tackling this issue.

All advice and possible solutions are appreciated guys! Thanks in advance

One thing to check would be the small hose that goes to the reservoir. I've had that seep at the radiator end

Thanks for the quick reply!

That area seems to be the source of the culprit. Its either the hose or the small cap that the hose connects to on the coolant reservoir.
