TL reset all radio stations, clocks, etc.-then came back after next restart
What caused this?! I thought I was going to have to reset all the stations, I even started re-programming some of my XM channels on the drive.
Then when I left my car, came back - everything was back the way it was.
What caused this problem...?

Possibilities are:
1) Car battery going bad, more likely if you're on the OEM battery, esp if the problem recurs or other electronic glitches arise,
2) ECU glitch which you can ignore if the battery is good and the problem doesn't recur, or
3) ECU damaged/going bad.

This has happened to my 07 TL-S also twice now. I figured one day I would read about somebody knowing why it does it. I do not.

Last week my wife drove the car and hadn't programmed any presets. She has the Driver 2 remote. We have a garage and don't lock the car at night so when I got in the next morning I pushed the Driver 1 seat preset only. My radio presets weren't there and I was concerned there was an electrical issue. When I got into the car after work I used the remote to unlock, got in, and all my presets were there. There really wasn't a problem at all for me. Hope this helps.

FWIW I had the same thing happened on my 2006 6MT w/navi that I just bought. Do you have any settings programmed for Driver 2?

^ Bingo- the presets are determined via the FOB that unlocked the door last. I have had this problem myself when my wife unlocks the doors with her keys too. I wish there was a preference on radio presets to NOT have this behavior as an option.

i had this problem maybe 3 times so far (i've owned the car since Oct 2010) on my 2005 tl, non-navi with 37,xxx
all my radio presets were gone AND my car didn't show the outside temp, just "--" i think.
One of the times I tried to shut off the car, and then immediately start it again, still had the problem. The other time i parked the car, went into a store and came back maybe 5-10 min later and everything was back to normal. really weird and have no idea what it can be...

The problem that you're having is the two separate keys for memory seating. If u change the station after your driving down the rode, when you lock the car, then unlock it again the seats, mirrors, radio etc. will change depending on what you had previously. Hope this helps

This has happened to me twice in 6 years. I just don't worry about it anymore, knowing that everything comes back the next time you start the car.
