Just replaced the engine, my last engine was roasted, first it hydro locked, then it was repaired, but it was wrongly repaired, they resurfaced the heads with a rock, so the engine had a compression leak, anyway, I needed a new engine, so the donor car was an automatic 2008 (mine is 2004 MT). The engine is perfect, purrs like new, no complains or issues, the only thing is, since the swap, now the sixth gear does not engage, even when the engine is off, I can engage all the other gear, but when you try to move the lever to the sixth position is like blocked. My mechanic disassembled the lever mechanism and tried to engage directly on the transmission and it is also locked.. At this point I am thinking that something happened internally.

What do you guys think, I should replace the transmission or should I try to repair it on a shop? Since it's a 2004 I really don't want to spend that much into a repair, meaning, if it cost more than 1500 dlls I would get used to have only 5 gears...

Can you get it into 6th gear when the engine is off?

Nah, the damn thing doesn't work even with the engine off, is like a screw is jamming the mechanism.
