Tiny tiny rust spots
hello acurazine members!
Long time lurker first time poster. I live in upstate New York with brutal winters. My car has a few of these little tiny rust bubbles maybe 1-2mm big. They first look like tiny paint bubbles, usually think it's dirt. but when I take it off with my finger I find rust behind it. They're scattered on car not a lot of them and not in the same areas. Only one of them is really big, like 3mm. What is causing this and what can I do to fix these now before it becomes a bigger rust spot.
In case your wondering I've owned the car for 5 months. It was recently shipped from Germany by boat. I didn't really notice these until I started hand washing my own car here.
Thanks,
Blockanese.

whats causing that is when you're driving on the highway, chips and little rocks hit your car at high speeds causing your paint to chip and then rust. You should see my front bumper. To avoid this you have to maintain a proper distance from the car in front of you. trucks can especially be bad because there are bigger rocks that come flying out when you're behind them. These little chips in my opinion are unavoidable unless you only drive local. Theres a lot of youtube videos you can watch and learn how to fix these yourself.

I watched a few of those videos and some people said using a clay bar can get the rust out. But is that only if the rust was on top of the paint? I've never done any type of paint touch up so I don't want to make it worse lol.
P.S. Thanks. 10th mountains a good unit.

Don't be afraid to sand the rust away. Touch up paint is easy and Dr. Colorchip is what most people recommend for first-timers. I'd look into that.
